DJI Enterprise Drones in Nigeria: Which Model Fits Your Job
Most drone purchases go wrong at the same point. First the buyer picks a platform, then works out what it can do.
In practice, the order should run the other way. Start with the mission, and the aircraft chooses itself. So this guide maps the main DJI Enterprise drones in Nigeria to the jobs they actually suit.
Start with the mission, not the airframe
Four questions decide almost every specification.
First, what do you need to see? Next, how far does the aircraft need to travel? Then, how often will you fly the same route? Finally, what conditions will it face on site?
Answer those, and the shortlist gets short quickly.
Mavic 3 Enterprise: light, fast, portable
The Mavic 3 Enterprise series folds into a backpack and launches in under a minute.
Within that range, the Mavic 3E handles photogrammetry and mapping. Meanwhile, the Mavic 3T adds a thermal sensor for search, security and quick inspection. For crop health work, the Mavic 3M carries multispectral bands instead.
Because it travels easily, this range suits teams that move constantly between sites. It is therefore the right entry point for construction progress monitoring, small-farm surveys and rapid response.
Matrice 4T and 4E: the working standard
For most industrial inspection, the Matrice 4T is the sensible default among DJI Enterprise drones in Nigeria.
It carries a wide camera, a medium tele camera, a long-range tele camera and a thermal sensor in one compact airframe. As a result, that combination covers telecom towers, flare stacks, storage tanks, bridges and substations without swapping payloads mid-mission.
If mapping accuracy matters more than thermal data, the Matrice 4E drops the thermal channel and focuses on survey output instead.
Matrice 350 RTK: heavy payloads, hard conditions
When the job needs a specialist sensor, the Matrice 350 RTK carries it.
Above all, it accepts the Zenmuse payload range, which is where its value sits:
- Inspection work — Zenmuse H30T, with 34x zoom, thermal, laser rangefinder and NIR light
- Terrain modelling under vegetation — Zenmuse L2 LiDAR
- Survey-grade mapping — Zenmuse P1 full-frame photogrammetry
Notably, this platform handles wind and rain, and it holds position steadily near structures. Consequently, oil and gas facilities, mining sites and transmission corridors all sit in its range.
Matrice 400: distance and endurance
Some corridors are simply long. Pipelines, transmission lines and large plantations therefore need coverage that does not stop every twenty minutes.
Because it extends flight time and range considerably, the Matrice 400 covers far more ground per sortie. Fewer take-offs also mean fewer access trips, which matters most where roads are poor or absent.
DJI Dock 3: coverage without a crew
Dock 3 is not an aircraft. Rather, it is a change in operating model.
Once paired with the Matrice 4TD, the dock houses, charges and launches the drone automatically. Missions then run on schedule or on trigger, and nobody drives to site. Moreover, the dock carries an IP56 rating, while the aircraft holds IP55 protection.
Choose this when the same route needs flying repeatedly. For instance, pipeline segments, substations, mine perimeters and remote telecom sites all qualify.
Agras: spraying and seeding at scale
Crop protection is a different discipline altogether. Specifically, the Agras series handles spraying, spreading and seeding across large fields, with flow control and terrain following built in.
Commercial farms and agricultural programmes therefore use these platforms for input application rather than data capture.
Buying is only part of the decision
